A tablet takeover? Not quite yet
I love Apple’s iPad. So much so, that I find myself using it more and more each day for content creation, not simply content consumption.
Can it replace my MacBook Air? Not at this point, but my hope is that one day I can do the bulk of my work usually reserved for a laptop on an iPad.
For the rest of those with computers and tablets, are tablets really taking over? Will they replace the laptop as the mobile computer of choice?
The infographic below from Litmus points to some interesting stats that indicate the growth of tablet use at the expense of the PC shows no signs of slowing:
- Tablets accounted for 28% of U.S. non-computer device traffic in 2011
- Tablet owners spend most of their time browsing the internet (35%) and checking email/Facebook Twitter (22%)
- 35% of tablet owners check their email on the device every day
- Over half of tablet users earn less than $100,000 with 38 % taking home less than $75,000
